This is the 18th year of the Wirral Bikeathon, supporting Bloodwise, the new name for the charity Leukeamia and Lymphoma Research. The Deputy Mayor of Wirral started the ride in the company of Chris Boardman, our local Patron, who encouraged the entrants on their way through Arrowe Country Park towards Caldy, the Wirral Way and the first 14 mile section of the 28 mile route.

Back at Arrowe Country Park, in the start, mid-point and finish area, riders were treated to cold drinks or hot refreshments thanks to the Red Room Cafe while enjoying the lively music of the Peninsula Jazzmen and the Ukulele band.

Thanks also go to Bikes and Boards (West Kirby), The  Bike Shop (Moreton) and K-Cycles of Eastham who continue to support us by providing bike repair services in the park and at Dovepoint on the prom in Meols. See below for the many other organizations who we also wish to thank profusely for their valuable support.
